BS1710 Individual Adhesive Pipe Markers | Mains Derived | Potable Water
SELF ADHESIVE VINYL PIPE MARKERS FOR PIPES CARRYING MAINS DERIVED POTABLE WATER
From only £0.70 per sticker
These pipe markers are produced on fully backed adhesive vinyl and can simply be peeled and pressed into place on a pipe to identify its contents.
The markers are designed according to the standards as laid out in BS1710, which is the most common and widely recognised standards for pipe marking in the UK. If you wish to understand more about the standards to which these markers are designed then please see our Guide on BS1710 British Standard Pipe Marking.
Our pipe markers are only available in the minimum quantities as shown below with discounts for larger numbers, we do not sell single markers. If you want a pack quantity in mixed marker designs please click here.

Our pipe markers are designed to be compliant with BS1710 and have all the required information completely integrated into self adhesive markers. Each marker is used to display the direction of flow, textual description of the pipe contents, and the colour coding as laid out in the British Standards.
The markers are designed with dual arrows so that the label can be altered to suit each application.
• Simply snip off the inappropriate arrow before installation to show uni-directional flows.
• Keep both arrows intact to indicate dual-directional flow
We use high quality vinyl and laminate for extra protection and longevity - the white polymeric vinyl that we use, has been specifically engineered to adhere to LSE (low surface energy) substrates and/or substrates with a low surface temperature. It is designed for mainly indoor conditions but has been protected to last for 5+ Years outdoors under normal atmospheric conditions.

Choosing correct size and quantity
BS 1710 Standards stipulate the size of colour banding based on the diameter of pipe. To be legally compliant you must choose the correct size.
Pipe Diameters Less than
50mm= 160mm Banding Label Width
Pipe Diameters 50mm - 100mm =
330mm Banding Label Width
Pipe Diameters Over 100mm= 530mm Banding Label Width
Make sure you identify all the positions in your piping system at which you will need to apply a pipe marker and note the pipe's diameters. Using the guide above work out how many of each size you will require.
Marker Design Information
• The Basic Identification colour in this case, identifies the contents as WATER
• Text identifies the substance and may also provide information on pressure or temperature if important to health or safety.
• The arrows positioned on either end of the label are intended to communicate the direction of flow. The inappropiate arrow may be simply cut off with a pair of scissors, before application. Both arrows will indicate dual-directional flow.
• The white border is to help distinguish the label from the decorative colour of the pipe work in case of a similar hue.
